In a groundbreaking leap toward sustainable mobility, ThunderPlus, India’s fastest-growing EV charging company, in partnership with Trinity Cleantech, has launched the world’s first mobile, ethanol-based 150 kW DC fast charger-cum-generator — the ME Energy Rapid Charger 150.
This innovative breakthrough represents a major stride toward grid-independent, self-reliant, and sustainable EV infrastructure, perfectly aligned with India’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision. By offering a bio-fuel-powered alternative to conventional diesel generators and grid-tied chargers, the Rapid Charger 150 redefines how India will power its electric future.
🌱 “Liquid Electricity” – A New Era of Clean Mobility
Unlike traditional fast chargers that depend on heavy infrastructure, DISCOM approvals, and costly grid connections, the ME Energy Rapid Charger 150 can be deployed anywhere within 72 hours — completely independent of the grid.
Powered by ethanol, a renewable bio-fuel derived from plant produce, this system delivers up to 80% lower CO₂ emissions compared to diesel-based systems, while cutting setup time and operational costs by more than 50%.
“ThunderPlus has always been at the forefront of solving India’s charger-anxiety problem,” said Rajeev YSR, Director & CEO of ThunderPlus.
“With the ethanol-based Rapid Charger 150, we’re collapsing setup timelines, cutting diesel dependence, and giving our partners a cleaner, mobile, and instantly deployable charging solution. We proudly call it ‘Liquid Electricity’.”
🚍 Powering the Future of Fleets, Buses, and Roadside Assistance

The innovation has received strong support from industry leaders.
Sri. Mahesh Babu, Managing Director of Olectra Green Tech Ltd., India’s largest electric bus manufacturer, officially unveiled the charger and praised the milestone:
“This charging station will revolutionize the ecosystem by cutting down high capex, long wait times, and infrastructure bottlenecks that delay the commissioning of DC fast chargers. Most importantly, it reduces our dependence on fossil fuels. It’s a great use case for Olectra, fleet operators, and depot backup — accelerating our bus launches while the grid catches up.”
⚙️ German Technology, Made in India
Raj Kumar, Executive Director of Trinity Cleantech Pvt. Ltd., added:
“This product is being manufactured by Trinity Cleantech under the patented technology license of ME Energy GmbH, Germany. The Rapid Charger 150 offers a scalable, economical, and fast path for companies committed to decarbonizing their operations.”
Inspired by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon. Minister of Road Transport & Highways — a key advocate for ethanol adoption — this innovation bridges the gap between bio-fuels and electric mobility, supporting India’s transition to a clean-energy economy.
The launch was attended by notable figures from India’s green mobility sector, including Shri Chandramouli Vemula from SIDBI, who commended the initiative for aligning with green-finance and sustainable-mobility goals.
🔋 A Game-Changer for India’s EV Ecosystem
The Rapid Charger 150 unlocks new possibilities across diverse use cases:
- Grid-independent public charging at highways, depots, and logistics hubs
- Mobile backup for intercity and intracity EV buses
- Roadside assistance for EVs with low charge
- Temporary green power for construction and mining sites
- Eco-friendly replacement for diesel gensets in residential or commercial areas
