ThunderPlus, one of India’s fastest-growing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure companies, has taken a major step toward enabling stress-free, long-distance electric travel across Andhra Pradesh. In a landmark initiative, ThunderPlus launched a pioneering electric mobility road journey from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam to showcase the real-world readiness of its EV charging network for long-haul travel.

Road Trip Across Andhra Pradesh — A Live Validation

To underline the performance and reliability of its charging ecosystem, ThunderPlus CEO Rajeev YSR led an all-electric journey covering key destinations including:

    • Hyderabad
    • Suryapet
    • Gollapudi (Vijayawada)
    • Nalajerla (Eluru)
    • Visakhapatnam

This demonstration was conducted entirely using electric vehicles and charging exclusively at ThunderPlus stations deployed along the route — proving that long-distance EV travel is now practical and reliable.

“This journey is not about proving whether EVs can travel long distances — the debate is over,” said Rajeev YSR, “It is about proving that the charging infrastructure is ready. With ultra-fast chargers deployed at strategic locations, EV travel becomes stress-free, reliable, and commercially viable for families, daily commuters, and large fleets alike.”

    Strategically Deployed Ultra-Fast Charging Hubs

ThunderPlus has built a series of high-capacity charging stations strategically positioned for seamless travel:

    • 480 kW charging hub in Hyderabad
    • 560 kW ultra-fast charger near Hotel Logili in Suryapet
    • 500 kW facility at Gollapudi, Vijayawada
    • 240 kW stations at Nalajerla (Eluru) and Beach Road in Visakhapatnam

These ultra-fast chargers helped participating vehicles recharge up to 80% in about 20 minutes, demonstrating how opportunity charging can support long-distance journeys efficiently.

Charging Infrastructure Built for the EV Future

ThunderPlus charging stations are designed with high uptime, fleet scalability, and seamless digital access — giving users easy station discovery, real-time support, and efficient payment options. This ensures reliability whether the user is an individual EV owner or a large fleet operator.

    Looking Beyond Andhra Pradesh

Building on this success, ThunderPlus plans to expand similar high-speed charging corridors in other major regions, including cities such as Bhubaneswar, Chennai, and Bengaluru. The company is also working toward partnerships with highway hotels and key travel hubs to create a comprehensive, integrated network that supports the future growth of India’s EV ecosystem.
