In a major step toward sustainable urban mobility and women empowerment, Hyderabad-based electric mobility firm ETO Motors signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) to deploy a fleet of electric three-wheelers operated entirely by women drivers in the Amaravati Capital Region.

The initiative, launched as part of the state government’s renewed vision to transform Amaravati into a model sustainable capital, was announced during the inauguration of the APCRDA Headquarters by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu on Thursday.

Commending ETO Motors for its inclusive approach, the Chief Minister said the project would empower women while promoting green mobility. “These women drivers will ferry passengers from nearby villages to the Capital Region, becoming financially independent and contributing to a cleaner, greener Amaravati,” he stated.

ETO Motors’ Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Rajeev YSR, highlighted that the initiative introduces a unified ticketing system enabling passengers to travel seamlessly across three-wheelers, buses, and cars, covering the first-mile to last-mile connectivity. “We are deploying a fully electric fleet connecting Gannavaram Airport, Vijayawada, Amaravati, and Guntur through clean and sustainable transportation,” he added.

Under the first phase, ETO Motors will roll out 300 electric three-wheelers, 100 electric cars, and 20 electric shuttle buses, integrating multimodal transport solutions to ensure affordable, efficient, and pollution-free mobility.

Beyond connectivity, the program aims to foster employment and micro-entrepreneurship among women and marginalized communities, aligning with the state’s inclusive growth vision.

ETO Motors extended its gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu, Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD Sri P. Narayana Garu, and Sri Kannababu IAS, Commissioner, APCRDA, for their leadership in making this initiative possible.

Prominent representatives from ETO Motors present at the event included Sri Bhaskar Ponnapula, Director – ETO Group; Mrs. Preethi Belinda Jasti, Vice President – Operations; and Mr. Nirmal, President – ETO Motors.
